Pics of drum recording I just did and an idea for you.

I no examples of real drum track songs because this is the first kit to show up in record ready quality.

But here is a band (younger dudes) who I did a few months ago.

Yes these drums are obviously samples, nobody plays that stuff that tight.

I found I had to do that AND run an inline pad to decrease the signal a tad.

And to leaningpine...the speaker doesn't make a lot of difference, although I wouldn't use a ripped up pile o shit....all you're really lookin for is the signal made when the air from the reso head pushes the speakers cone. That creates the signal that ya mix underneath the kick.

Do search of DIY subkicks and you'll see what I mean.

I have negative to pin 1 and positive to pin 2. And yeah I have to attenuate on the way in.
 
So let me see if I got this straight.......

You're gonna teach us how to mic and record drums with your almost no experience, a few pics, out-of-tune drums, bad sound clips, and then sample replace everything? :laughings: :laughings: :laughings: :laughings: :laughings:

Nothing I stated on my initial post is bad advise for tracking drums.

Common, I've posted clips on demand, let's have some of yours.

No, I don't ever record drums.
 
I'm gonna go buy some drums and mics, learn how to play, and record some clips just to show this guy!

Nope, we are good. I know when to stop feeding the trolls. Why would I continue this thread when the geriatrics can't even read. But thank you for thinking I posted the perfect way to record drums. Really, I'm quite honored.
