I believe that formerly Feilo made the SE mc line. I believe SE is now totally separate. I now a few people who seem impressed with what SE is doing now. Here is info on the current SE mic line: http://www.tbkmics.com/

And, I believe MXL no longer has mics made there either.

Yes , SE now build a very small factory , make mic themselves . What the SOS said about SE is true .

Thank you Danshi,

Interesting, indeed.
I am wondering, how old are these girls? It seems like a child labor.

lol . They are from 22 to 40 . They have good earning .

It's natural that Chinese looks younger than you .

The mic's in the last photo kind of look like the MXL603S or a knock-off, it's hard to tell in that photo.

It's top secret . They don't let me know its brand and don't let me take a zoom-in photo . I think that brand company will never let consumer know it .

normaly you only get people flaming chinese products on these forums nice to see with our own eyes that at least some chinese mikes are hand build quality products.
(i own a very cheap chinese guitar now it has been set up properly it plays like a dream)

They are sold as the ADK SC-1 and the Joemeek JM-27 and it's no big secret that they're made by Feilo.

Another version of it is sold as the Global Audio GXL-1200 and that's no big secret, either.

It also used to be the Marshall MXL 603 untill they made some minor tweaks to it and opened their own factory.

Don't they kind of have to be hand built? If you're dealing with diaphragms, isn't it the very nature of polyurethane film that it has to be handtensioned...? At least that's what I understand it to be...

Not do they only look younger than him... they look MUCH PRETTIER than him too! LOL

Hey danshi, does FEILO make their own mic bodies there also... in other words, does FEILO have their own machine shop also?

PS... danshi, (here and in the other thread) I want to apologize to you in advance for any Americans who made or make any rude comments about you or your country... they are NOT speaking for all of us here in the USA.

Are there any other mic factories in China you can take photo at?

Thanks again for the photos... your a man of your word (honor), and you did a very good job.

I don't think those girls look that young, not young enough to be called child labor.

I wouldn't have even thought that...

thank you so much danshi, that was a very interesting reportage. I hope to see you here on a regular basis

Yes they have , but in another place . I only take photos of their handwork workshop .

Don't confuse FEILO and SE . I just get the news : SE now have disengaged from FEILO . SE build a small factory ( really small ) for themselves .

No problem . You are welcome .

It's difficult . I also have a little acquaintance with Superlux . They have more beautiful and really huge workshop . But the plant is far from me , I'm difficult to go to there .

I dont doubt what you guys think you recognised but there were Tubes in some of those mics and there were tube supplies...I think maybe GT or Rode even

GT's maybe, ADK's? I'm not sure, but I believe rode is an all Australian mic..I could be wrong. I would just like to know who really makes mics for who!

Rode were (and may still be) dealing with 797, although they have their new factory in Sydney, there appears to be another one of their smokescreens drifting around which clouds the issue of exactly what in Rode's product line is coming from where.

QUOTE.........."I would just like to know who really makes mics for who!"

This is something a lot of us have been trying to determine for a long time.............so far the only definite, is that SP are from 797. I seem to recall that Alan Hyatt once tried to answer the question based on his (inside) knowledge of what was going on in the industry and it ended up being another one of "those" threads.

It is not unreasonable to suspect that regardless of what claims are being made by some of the "lesser" companies, chances are that their mics, or at least some of them, ARE coming out of China and not necessarily all from the same "factory".

Personally, the manufacturing conditions shown in the photos of Feilo don't inspire confidence.

i think the biggest reason why products can be had cheaper from china is simply because the cost of living is so much lower. a fair wage in china seems like slave labor to americans cause we could never live off the wages in america. living just does not cost as much there. just my observation after living there for a year. correct me if i am wrong danshi. plus, i think that chinese people are happier with less. people in america (and other countries) always want more. this causes inflation, then the cost of products made in america skyrocket and cannot compete with prices from products made in china. then we automatically think it is junk cuz we cant understand how people can be happy without having all the stuff americans have. (rolling eye smiley here) while i lived in china, i was in direct contact with a factory that made polyreson products. you would not beleive the detail that goes in to these things. and if there is any tiny defect, it gets tossed. the chinese people i worked along side took pride in making their product right and to the best of their ability. try and find a factory that does that in america.

thanks for posting the pix -- its great to get an "insider perspective" on how Feilo mics are made! I am amazed how small the company seems to be! Hand built, well, I guess you could say that these mics are hand built, but you have to keep in mind that labor is increadible cheap in China. Just because a girl puts in the capsule and stuff doesn't really mean that "hand built" means quality here, though. Its the components which make the music.

Mic Check

I wonder if they sing a little Ricky Martin "She Bangs" for the mic check?? Just a joke, don't kill me...

Foreverain4 , you are right . But this is one of the reasons . Other reasons are :

factory and tools are not belong to someone , so they don't need use products to pay for the factory and tools , so every mic is cheap .

materials are all made by themselves or made in China , so the cost is less than US factory .
