PHASING ISSUES with SUMMING AMP

I mean record the output of the summing amp, even just a few seconds, and then play it back to see how it recorded.

There's software called "Maestro" that evidently comes with your interface. It's a routing (monitor mix etc.) mixer that could be looping back some signal to your output.

I solo'd the tracks in Maestro and recorded them. They are phasing when it's recorded.

If I monitor the inputs, they are phasing...but if I hook up the summing amp to speakers, they aren't - so the signal going out of the amp is not phasing.

I also tried panning the inputs Left & Right, in Maestro (didn't know you could do that). It changes the sound a little bit, but it's still messed up.

I noticed, if I turn off one of my speakers, the other one sounds great & visa versa

It's almost as if both speakers are spitting out the same information and causing the phase to occur (even though when I check, little intricacies that should be only on the right or left are in the places they should be).

this is so weird

Sounds like the SPDIF from your ensemble is sending both the signal from outputs 1-8 and the return input from the summing amp to your monitors. The delay caused by the extra DA conversion and back is probably causing one to phase cancel the other. The easiest solution would be to send your summing amp to a patchbay, and half normal it directly to your monitor. Also send a mult of this stereo channel directly to input 7-8 for the record enabled track. Take the SPDIF out of the equation, and see if that fixes the problem. If you don't have a patchbay, a simple signal splitter would be fine here too. Worth a try.
