....or more specifically.
I have all of my out board gear in a rack and I just added a second patchbay. I want to access all gear and destinations through the bays.
If I ground the patchbay chassis together to a single ground, can I hook up the outboards to the bay un-grounded?
I have a big roll of 20-guage 4 conductor telephone wire unshielded) laying around and I have very limited space directly behind my rack.
I was thinking I could use the telephone wire to connect the outboards to the bay.
This would keep my cabling behind the rack very tidy as I would be able to get 4 connections per cable.
Is this a completely improper way to hook up my stuff??
