BTW, all of you guys that never heard KISS or this original,...
Guernica & Bob's cover of "Parasite" is much different than the original.
The original just hits and drives like any KISS song from the early era, with hard rock drums and guitars, all the way, pedal to the metal.
The COVER really lays into a GROOVE, with a modern beat that's totally different than the original. The original buzzsaw guitars and stellar guitar solos are replaced in the COVER by a thick, solid modern compressed rythm guitar, that's very basic in a sense, as compared to the original,... and the original screamin guitar solo is replaced by a very tasteful, screamin sax solo, which,... again,... is quite different from the original solo. That's probably indicative of Bob's not having heard the KISS original, and just working off Guernica's basic groove.
The COVER presented here is much different than the ORIGINAL, but it definitely defines a space of it's own, and I still think this COVER is worthy of actual radio airplay.
Hey, Van Halen broke with a modern cover of a KINKS song, and this type of thing happens often, so it could possibly happen to you. [Guernica/Bob]
