Hi all

In Cool Edit Pro, a friend of mine keeps telling me to use parametric Equalization /Mackie Low Boost.

What does mackie low boost do anyway?, when i use it, looks like it just boosts the frequencies and makes it louder.

Can anyone break it down to me so i can know if i really need to use it when editing vocals?, the last thing i want to do is boost frequencies thats going to make noise i don't want louder.

Cheers.

then you read a book on it and become a master jedi knight.

You're working in Cool Edit Pro? What is this then your mixer eq? Mackie's low is probably 80 Hz shelf, not parametric.
-bass, like on your stereo.
Sounds like your friend's advice is like, 'Don't feel well?'
'Take some medicine.' :D
