Yo Dragonfly:
If we keep bugging Dragon, he will soon start an MD-8 forum which is sorely needed!! [are you listening Scaley one?]
There is a response about bussing somewhere around here; I copied it the other day and went home and "zingo" got my drum track in stereo for the first time. Since there is no "delete" push-button, just keep pushing the buttons and you'll get there. But, do try to find that response about bussing.
Do you know that you have phantom power built-in the MD-8? The switch is on the back of the box, very visible. Or, if you use a mic pre, an ART for example, it has phantom power. So, you should be able to do multi-track stuff using the simple DIRECT method. Remember to put your recorded track into the CUE mode before you cut the next track. If you don't put recorded tracks into the CUE mode, you can lose the data and other weird things can happen.
If you LCD tells you, sometime in the future, that your disc is "scratched." It has dust in it. Just use a vacuum cleaner gently around the disc and, Voila, it will return to normal.
Hope this helps you out. Find that little blip about bussing, copy it, and put it in front of you and push the buttons and see what happens.
