onyx 1640

I guess this is as good a place to post this as anywhere. The 1640 onyx mixer has a fire wire card ok. The firewire card has 2 firewire outputs so you can daisychain 2 mixers. Has anyone tried to run 2 pc's or laptops from these outputs? Of course 1 output would go to your computer, the other to second onyx console in normal siruation but I want to run a backup for this live gig I have . I cant get a hold of Mackie and nothing online. I'm thinking it would work.I may just try it but hate to tear out my pc to try if someone can tell me a yes or no ahead of time.

Did you try Mackies forum ? Mike Rivers is the man to ask at the forum. It may be that on the Onyx firewire card that If two cables are plugged in on becomes a line in automatically. I know you can plug into either one as a send. But if both are used I bet one is now an input. That would make since because when daisy chaining two 1640's one sends its channels to the one connected to the pc. But I would ask at the forum to make sure.
