Here is a bit of a weird one I have been working on....it only has one guitar track and vocals so its a bit raw....I think I will be adding some banjo and Sitar to it before it's done ...you will hear the space for it in the middle...just thought I would throw it out for some arrangment thoughts critiques...
here it is:

Very interesting. I really like that haunting guitar line. I don't have much to add. I think the sitar would be a great touch on this song. The kick and bongos sound great. Keep working on it! :)

Yes its coming along good so far..... Love the vibrato you're putting on the riffs. The music/melody and the bongos go together well...very east indian. A sitar would be perfect... Cool story... Mix sounds good so far, balanced and bold...

:D:D:D:D

Very cool. Vocals sound a bit too mid scooped to me and the bottom swells up on them pretty good some times. Not much of an issue at this point, might be when the other parts are added. Might just be the bass in the vox giving me the scooped impression.... The vocals do give you a distinct impression though and thats very cool!

I agree with Greg that a sitar would sound pretty cool.
You could go alot of ways with this.

Cool. When I read the thread title, I thaught it was going to be a cover of Rick Derringers "one Eyed Jack"

This is going to be really good. The bass (string on gtr) is a bit boomy & needs taming.
I reckon you need some trippy verb on the end of a few vocal lines.
Excellent lyrics.
Will banjo compete with sitar for weird overtones/drones?
The tabla sounding drum is great but could use the occasional extra hit to give it some extra rhythmic texture.
Where does this fit in the Tunacock saga?

The music itself sounds pretty well done. The vox is the only thing I'd say needs a little something to make it a little more clear.

Maybe the guitar panned a little to one side and the vox to the other. Other the vox in the middle.

Some cymbals or hats or some other kind of instrument might add a little more air to it.

**LINK AT TOP OF THRED PLAYS NEWEST MIX....ADDED SITAR, PERCUSSION,CYMBALS,AMBIENT NOISE**

Greg - Thanks for listening....I have just uploaded my latest version with a sitar and some more percussion/cymbals added.

ido1957 - Thanks! All guitars are done with the Variax....kinda weird to do acoustic stuff with it as I have pretty light strings and get more vibrato out of my left hand then with a real acoustic.I did the sitar with my variax as well...if ya get a chance, let me know what you think.

Freudian Slip - thanks for the feedback...I tried to roll some low end of the vocals and adjust the levels a bit on the latest mix.The link at the top of the thread plays my newest mix with sitar/added percussion.

BushmasterM4 - Ha! Killer tune...sorry to disappoint ya tho!:o

rayc - Hey Ray, took your advice on the acoustic and cut some lows out of it...have added sitar, and also more percussion..... not sure if I'm still gonna throw some banjo in...this is getting more Indian than I originally envisioned!
I can definitely see a One Eyed Jack Vs. The Mighty Tunacock part in my Tunacock concept album :p!
Thanks for the feedback!

bigbubba - Hey Bigbubba...ya must have listened right before I updated the song...I think I have the vocals a bit more clear in the mix now, and I added some more percussion/variations....thanks for checking it out!!

Sounds good. I think the sitar is perfect. A trippy sitar solo during that long break would be good.

Thanks Greg, I have tried a few , but haven't really liked anything yet...gonna let it sit for a bit and come back fresh for a new try!

Mate, I'm really impressed with the retraint you managed. I'd have spoilt the piece with sitar over evreything all the way through. Deft touches well done.
The deep voice is good.
the kiddies are ace too.
The added percussion really gives it a more asian flavour - makes me hungry too.
The gong sounds are nice too.
Sounds like the garden the Beatles were in in Maharishi land (not the Rutles in Bognor).
Only nit is that the tablas are unbalanced in the mix - nothing on the other side of the image to match them.
Fabulouso!

Thanks Ray!, I usually rush through my stuff, so I am kinda taking this one slower and letting it sit between sessions , before I add anything....I think I need to cut some Lows from that deep voice in the middle of the song...agree about the tablas...will be adding something to the other side to balance ....

My old lady likes this song. :D
