I'm looking for an omni mic, or pair like Audix TR-40, T.H.E. KP-6M, Avenson STO-2 (pair). I can't afford Earthworks. Does anyone have experience with the Audix TR-40? How does it compare? The self noise specs don't look too bad. It's the cheapest and available at my local dealer.
I'm looking for an omni for use on acoustic instruments, and room ambience mostly. I have multi pattern LDC's but want a true small diameter omni for something different.
