Actually, since they're just $200, I was thinking about doing that. What else is there besides replacing the transformer? Anything else in it? Do you know of any transformers to try? I was thinking of calling Kevin at K&K Audio and see if he sells a decent Lundahl replacement. I bet one could be had for around $50.

I was close. Kevin said they were $47 and he has them in stock.

I don't think he does mods. I also have no idea how much it will help the sound or exactly how to do it. Give me a few days to dig around and I'll let you know.
