Anyone tried one yet? I was looking into getting either a 4050 or a T3 for my next mic - I want a multipattern - but I saw this on their site and wondered how it would compare? I love my MK 012's, and I hear sooo many good things about the MK319 so I really want to know if it's a good deal or not.

Jacob

(I'm not looking for other multipattern suggestions...)

I haven't tryed the 220, but I can tell that I hate the 219. I'm not sure how diferent these mics are. I actually prefer the mxl 990 to the 219, which isn't really saying much. Hope this helps.

I own 012's & a couple of 319's. I understand the trouble with the 219 was the capsule housing, which was replaced and called the 319. While I have not heard the 220, according to this: http://www.oktava-online.com/mk220.htm it is essentially a multi-pattern 319 so it would probably be decent.

How much do they cost?

no way to compare those mics, talk about opposite ends of the spectrum!

319 (220)-known for being dark
4050- known for it's mid character
t3-kown for brighter top end

for me-
1: 4050 because i don't know what source you're using it on
2: 220 because i like my 319s
3: t3 is a good mic too, but when i called and ordered mine the sales person said "yea, that's nice....... have you tried the nt2a?"

he down-sold me
love the nt2a btw.
