I've be trying to post this here for two days.

Oktava is coming back to the US at the first of the year.

Some of you will be happy, some don't care and some don't understand and that’s okay too.

Yours truly will be a direct dealer and will happily take care of my HR friends. I'll let you know when you can start placing orders and getting pricing.

Below is the email I got last night from the new US distributor.

Dear David,

We will start distributing our products in the United
States early next year. Currently we are formalizing
Our presence in the United States. I will contact you
with information on available products and pricing
shortly once it's available.

Deep,
That is great!
I love my Oktavas, One bit the dust last week. ( one of my MC012s) I'd love to know a dealer like yourself is close by.

One of these days after the first of the year I need to get with you on other gear as well . I need new monitors and some additional mic pres that will handle high transients (drums).

Do you have a website listing all the items you handle?

Tanks!

Tom (T-Mix)

Cool! When you get set up, let me know what you can do a pair of ML-19s for.

sign me up. I love oktava's... they're great for overheads and acoustic.

COOL!!!

although I just got a MK-319 via ebay. I'd like to get (surprise) a pair of 012's.

I just hope the price isn't too high due to demand for these babies. :p

Will you be selling them at Guitar Center prices or Sound Room prices?

If they're going to actually be distributing them in the US, I would imagine that it will be GC prices.

I hope their QC gets better, though. Since a lot of people will be ordering them without trying them out, their current reputation will end up causing a heck of a problem.

IMHO you either be "selective" ala The Sound Room, or be very easy going, as far as returns (at a lower price point), due to their erratic QC.

Many of the Oktavas have sub-standard soldering issues, different parts, etc.
per Scott Dorsey at RAP.

Deepwater ... keep me posted and start checking your shipping charges to the UK!

I am happy for you for picking up another line that will undoubtedly do well for you. On the other hand, the whole Wharfedale thing was really infringing upon the whole dealer/spam thing. This post IMHO is far across that line. Maybe this should be posted somewhere else?

Maybe in the Free Ads section you could do this ... I know your intentions are good.

I'll let you guys know more about Oktava as I get more details. I'm sure you'll see them poping up in GC and other place too. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

Disclaimer -
You don't have to buy them from me just because I'll sell them to you cheaper than anybody. There are a lot of online resources that will offer them at full price. Fill free to pay extra.

Deep,
Have you looked into selling the RED5 line of mics. It would be nice to get them in the US. I have read great things about them.

They look like ADK microphones or some other micriphones. Are they imports kinda like SP and ADK?

I think some of the Red5 ones are home-designed. Like SP - they're not imports! AKD and SE are two of the people who do some of that.
