Forget USB. Your existing soundcard will sound better.

You can buy an inexpensive 2-channel mixer with phantom power and a headphone amp for $50.

Buy a single condenser for for less than $50. I happen to think the Naiants are a great bargain.

Later you can buy an additional mic and record the guit with one mic and your vox with the other.

or this maybe would be more suitable??? http://cgi.ebay.ie/Alto-Pro-7-Input...xers?hash=item45ed4d5093&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

Hi nickey i sent u a pm with more info than i wanna post here go check it i also e-mailed u be interestig to see if you got that at your regd email

hey toon hows things mate. Was thinking about taking the route tdukex mentioned and i had a look on ebay posted a few links hav a look see what ya think. My webcam software will take external devices i think as i mentioned i can select the audio source from the webcam software or is this what you mean

Nickey go to top of page look top right see "welcome nickeym1" you'll also see private message shud say unread 1 click as i've sent more info and check u'r regular e-mail which i sent this morn ..it'll explain bit more

ah see it now mate. Still dont really understand what you mean though im really sorry for being a pain here but im not a techie YET :) What do you think of the 2 channel mixer with phantom power route

Um um I note they don't actually give any data specs??? To many of the folk here it would not do. In the email I suggested somefink like ESI SEU 22 which is a usb sound card wiv 1mic input and an instument input..although not a mixer I believe it would give results you'r after. But lets go back to wot exactly YOU want to do..which as i understand it is to webcam event(whatever that is) and use a seperate mic to rec the sound simultaniously..am I right

Ya spot on mate thats the plan anyway. Just youtube vids for now. But thinking about it now i would like something i would be able to use on the computer and also be able to use away from the comp maybe i am asking a bit much if i needed to spend a little more i would if it would be better for the long run rather than just wasting money on something i will just throw there in a few weeks and want something better and more versatile

That brings us back to the zoom h2 which i think you cud just plug into u'r sound card and then use away from the comp then download wot u've recorded..The h2 is small mobile recorder with usb interface and audio interface function...check u'r regular email adress to see if the email i sent thru "homerecording" 2 u got delivered cos I mention it there as well.

this is the only email i got from you mate

I rekon were going of thread topic so thought it better to go this route. I've gotta do some things but see if you can verify though the documentation if it will accept external devices if it does then it should.. see if ther is a link page in the s/w to a web site etc..
I mean most packages these days are capable of connecting to a variety of kit, but this may not be the case if the s/w is just for that web cam(hard to imagine...but wot a blow to get new mic and be stuffed or worse)

Maby the h2 is the way to go but im just wondering how it will perform as a mic or is it mainly just a recording device oh jesus am i confused with all this :) you must be getting tired of all this explaining

By email i mean u'r email not here inside homerecording..the place u'd get emails from friends the email u gave to register here the other is a pm Private Message within HR

Phantom power: some mics most notably condenser mics need to be powered otherwise they willnee work this is phantom powering.. the h2 has it's own mics so not an issue 4 u

If you guys are going to keep banning the bots around here...what will we do for Spam?...now I might have wanted a sandwich.

Ill guarantee you that with the H2 you can do alot of stuff...it can plug right into the soundcard if you want.

I bought mine because I have an HD camera that is built into a pair of glasses but the sound was atrocious...Ive smuggled it into concerts without getting caught...and with its hard limiter you can take it to the loudest show and never worry about the mics distorting.

When u say u might want to record away from the comp do u mean with vid or just audio..
because if u mean both then u gotta have portable camera as well and so it goes on and on LOL.

Darrin
I rekon it's a good way to go wudn't mind one myself.. it'll certainly get nickey started and u've answerd the Q about plugging into sound card..I take it u can also send signal down usb so it's it's own s/c as well

Na just audio away from pc. Finally found your email thought that email was just a link but scrolled down and there it was :) had a look on that .de site was looking at the usb audio interfaces they look interesting theres an m-audio fast track i quite liked the look of http://www.thomann.de/index.html?partner_id=97926&page=ie/maudio_fast_track_pro.htm i know i would need mic also but the sound sample sounds great or could i really trust the sample they give :) would it really give me this kind of quality and i notice can plug guitar in too only thing im thinking now is i have a buddy of mine who plays with me sometimes if he wanted to plug in aswell im guessing i would need a model with more inputs??

We are getting bit of topic thats why I PMd u, oh yes the m-audio is fine but i notice u upped tyhe budget...get it wiv a bundle and i don't think u'll be disappointed. U can put 2 gtrs or grt/mic at once which should be fine as u can do backing then add vox, but u need s/w to do music production and that is a WHOLE other story...To pm go top left look for user CP and find from there. prob better ways as well
