Probably been stated before many times by many people because there is "nothing new under the sun", but I recall that one of the great touted advantages of the digital age was "random access", and then it occurred to me that that feature was already addressed with the phonograph turntable...

Then there's chipping the info into stone. For longevity none of the new crop out lasts the old way.
Crude, but then again granite doesn't degrade every time you access' it.

The accuracy factor is out the window too because if it were always exact replication of the source we were after then we wouldn't need, eq, effects, stereo panning, plugins....etc...
