Assuming you have been gigging for 40 years, that would be 250 gigs per year, for every year- or two gigs every three days FOR THE LAST 40 YEARS. And that does not include the number of gigs both you and chamelious both played. Prolific though you may be, I doubt you have maintained that level of dedication...

Your forget that Gergles is a pan-dimensional being.... :D

I can't remember the last time I broke a string or dropped a pick though.

Touch wood... playing tonight. I'll get back to you...:laughings:

Nope... still haven't dropped a pick...

Did have a first though... it was an open mic... the guy following had his guitar go out of tune on him in his set, and he couldn't tune it... so I went up and did it for him..

So, apparently people do play live before learning basic stuff like how to tune yer instrument!:laughings:

Wait a minute man it's in an open tuning and it took me 30 minutes to tune it that way!!!!!

Kind of reminds of a show i played years ago.My band was the opener and as i was checking my tuning during set up the guitar player from the other band says "you guys actually tune up before you play?"

I said "well yeah" thinking to myself why wouldn't i.After our set he comes over and told me his sob story of him and his girl got into it and she took off with his axe in her car."Can i please borrow a guitar?"

I let him borrow my back up and of course he didn't take the time to tune up with his band.I was tuned 1/2 step down. They started with Godsmacks's "whatever" which i think is in drop d but he was way outta tune.I just laughed at the idiot. He played their entire set out of tune.It was just awful sounding.

Greg, fun's fun, and I am all for a bit o' banter, but do you think we can dispense with the name calling? Really, can't you express yourself without stooping to that level?

Thanks in advance.

I can, but I just call it like I see it. Thanks for playing.

I still haven't read anything about prepared guitars yet. Wtf?

I've never played a gig in my life. Can't find a band that can keep up with me. Seriously. It's not that I'm great, it's that everyone else I know sucks. So y'all can quit complaining about playing gigs. :p

What's worse is that people have heard my CD and thought I was in a band, and offered me gigs that I had to turn down. Some guy was really adamant about it once. His band were playing and they needed another band to go in with them or something (I wasn't really listening). Was expecting me to pull some people together and be ready to play my tunes at a show within 48 hours. Gave a little insight into just how bad his band must be if he thinks that's possible. :laughings:

Now, you see, if someone had asked me to back off, I would have said something like "My apologies if I crossed the line. I'll try to be more respectful in the future."

So a gay guy walks into a gay bar and says to the man beside him...that dude over there is a really good f*ck...the other guy says ..no shit...he says ..yeah,hardly any

Pick droppin', string breaking man.

I can't remember the last time I broke a string or dropped a pick though.
I went through this bizarre phase where I broke G strings all the time. Once in a while the top E might go but the Gs went frequently, like every time I played. This went on for a couple of years. In the end, my friend bought me a 12 string Yamaha !

Terramortim might conclude that I planned it all along.

Being a heavy handed player who uses the guitar as much as a percussive instrument, when my hands would get sweaty or the muscles around the thumb got painfully stiff, the pick would go a' flyin' ! Or break. It's fun living on the edge ! Actually it's not. It's a pain in the patootie.

Had I known what he was about to launch into I wouldn't have bothered - House of the Rising Sun - this is supposed to be a songwriter's night, not a place to rehearse tired old covers... :spank:
