On the PreSonus FIREPOD, i see no mic inputs on the whole thing! Are those jacks on the front supposed to be the inputs? if so what kindof cable are you supposed to use to hook them in? I also have another question. Can you connect a microphone into an audio interface that only has trs inputs? if so, is the quality effected? thanx for answering these question because I am a complete newbie

Here's the site with the product. if you don't know what i'm talking about.

It has 8 mic inputs on the very front of the firepod. Those are those black thingys you see. They will accept XLR connectors or 1/4" jacks.

As for the TRS connectors, no the quailty shouldn't be effected, atleast not considerably. I'm not sure if TRS connectors can work with phantom power though. I'm pretty sure they can't.

You need to have a preamp or DI between the mic and the interface. Going directly in will likely be a line in leval signal. If the TRS input into your interface is a preamp OR DI in, than yes you can do that, but if it isn't than you definately need wait and find out what will work. If you need to learn a little more, this is the right place...
