The Tascam ATR-60-16, 1"-16-track.

Pretty much the newest & top-of-the-line in 1"-16-tracks.;)

Okay, let me hit you with the offbeat Tascam 564 Minidisc Portastudio, 4-tracker!

Not mentioned previously, because it's -digital-, ATRAC encoded Minidisc data recorder, plus awesome 12x2 mixer, record direct-4-simul, or 2-simul in buss mode.

Much like the 424mkII, only better. Looks similar, but way, way advanced compared to the 424mkII.

It's a beauty!

You know I have one of these!

That remote does pretty much everything.

Auto-locate/auto-punch, track arming, basic shuttle control. You name it, it does it!

Yeah, I know, the 564's DIGITAL. Off-topic/wrong forum.

So sue me.;)

If you're into 16-track or above,... you'll need a bigger mixer, f/i, the Tascam M520

20-input/8-buss mixer, w/3-band sweepable EQ, 4-auxes, TONS of I/O & monitoring.;)

Here's the ATR-80 & remote, together.

This baby would have set you back an easy $4500, & well worth it!

My 244 ...

Ok, I cannot compete with Dave's collection of picts but I thought I'd post a few picts of my pride and joy - TASCAM 244. Dave, commented earier about how I received a mint 244 and that's very true. When I received it, I took the bottom part off to expose the guts of this machine. Take a look. Now, have you ever seen a more mint "insides" of a vintage unit ?

Note that I had remove the RCA "jumpers" from the back - won't work without these so buyer beware :)) (I've seen 244's sell on eBay without these).

God, yeah, the 244 is really packed!

Wow! Great techy-pics! WTG!

You're right, I've not seen any more mint guts of a 244 than that!

Well, back then, they really built things to last! Tascam didn't stand for "disposable item", at the time. Now? I don't know./DA
