just one verse, one bridge, one chorus...
that's all i got.

ideas?

i can go either way with this one.
i can keep it acoustic, and give it a more pop treatment (i'm really intrigued by this proposition)

or

i can rock it up and make it a batsbrew tune.

the one cool thing about this one is,
i used my brand new RME Babyface interface to do this whole thing....
at 96k, my first foray into higher sample rates.

this is a lightly mastered file. dithered to 16bit/44.1khz

I'm finding the lack of capitalization and the odd paragraph breaks distracting. ;)

I like it. Clean mix. Good separation.

thanks for listening, moptop......
i'd say part of the good separation is that good rme convertor...

i hear detail on the monitors now, i did not hear before.

you know, i did something REAALLLLLY WEIRD with this tune...
i recorded the two main acoustic rhythm guitars, and the solo guitars, with my ksm44 pointed backwards in cardoid pattern, towards the room, and jacked up my input gain, and basically recorded the sound of the room, instead of the guitars!!
LOL

just experimenting......

yes, i'm just starting on this one,
haven't even finished writing a lyric yet.....
i just had an idea for a verse, chorus and bridge,
but don't know which is which yet.

once i figure out an arrangement, i'll finish writing lyrics, and try to decide how to present it...
as a hard rock kind of thing,
turn it into a more pop arrangement with pop sounds,
or keep it purely acoustic.

I like it acoustic. And with how the vocals are, it gives it a sense of space.
It almost has that Humble Pie "30 days in the hole" vibe.

humble pie?
whoa, hadn't thought about that approach,
that'd be kind cool....
