New mic day!!!!! At last!!!

Been waiting for 2 weeks for these babies to arrive and I am seriously happy!

I will hopefully get a chance to use them at the weekend (got an accoustic guitar / vocal thing planned) if its worthy it'll end up in the MP3 clinic.

I'm hoping this will see me using less mic's - I'm planning the recorderman method for drums instead of my current 5 mic set up just using the C451's and maybe the D112.

The C414 is going (hopefully) to be my main vocal and guitar cab tool.

We shall see.

Just wanted to share my happy moment!

They're new - I did wrestle with my wallet to convince myself to do it but... I got quite a good deal. They are available on the second hand market as you know, and I think if I knew the previous owner I might have been ok, but its alot of money to shell out on a fragile bit of kit. And I'm not experienced enough to tell quickly if something is not quite right.
I have also in the past spent far more money building my way up to the higher end gear so this way I cut out all the interim transactions :)
And the other half might know what a new trial bike costs.... she thinks this is just some mic's!
 
Yup I'm the wild one and the wife is the voice of reason.

I'd seen a pair of C414 B ULS's for $200.00 owner claimed mint condition but needed to pay bills.
I kinda wish I bought em but I really don't know that much about them other than C414 series are quite nice.
They ARE used on amp cabs to great results.
 
WOW that is the deal of the century Ben! Did they work? Or worse where they hot?
 
First indication is the supposed owner not knowing what he has.

I don't know if they worked or not but I saw it online and it may well have hot or scam artist in action.
I thought wow, a pair of these, knowing they had a decent reputation, something told me to ignore it -
my wallet for one thing but I thought boy IF those WERE good mics it would have been quite a find.
I think that was about a week or two ago.
It was on a site similar, appearancewise, to this one. Used & Vintage Akg Microphones & Headphones | Southside Music.org
I have the distinctive recollection that it had ebay links. so the site sampled is a vague similarity with the auction in mind.

Would love to share the specific link for you all to review, but I've forgotten. Sorry.
 
The saying goes if it looks to good to be true it probably is.

There are super deals out there Ben but be careful of the scams.
