Tracks titled Get On, True and Human Nature are my newest pieces. Would love some feedback on these joints. True has some vocals at the chorus (about 1:20 into) so let ir ride for a second. Also feel free to leave some good commentary and opinion on the sound placement and overall mix if you have time.

Much Obliged,

whoa...

so far so good Abyss. I've been following that collabo thread for a while and anxiously awaiting the results. I must say that before this forum I didn't know of all of the technical possibilities music provides via pc (pr mac). But the team 1 project is tight. Mixed well too. I especially like the hook, pretty simple but real. Maybe I am confused, but is the team 2 collab completed? Maybe I just missed it, sorry if so...

There were some complications with nowhere so now all of my tracks are back up and should be available in hi-fi (with fingers crossed...).

Cool. I promise I will peep.

Team 2's track could be up anytime - we're all waiting on nick's vocals. I think y'all will like though. It's kinda south (flossy made the beat and he's from texas) with influences of me (i did the bridge - and i don't really have a set style) mixed in with a sort of army feel.

Get on - I like how it pans from left to right though i'm not too big on the pauses. the beat seems kinda peaceful and laid back - i'm not keen on some of the sound effects though.

True - nice piano on this. i like the drums in general but i'm not a fan of the "click" percussion sound in the back. quite a nice soulful beat. the vocals need a bit more work mixing-wise because they are drowned a bit.

Human Nature - i like how the beat comes in on the intro - i'm not too big on the drums here though. the beat is a bit too simple and needs lots more elements. i think out of the three this isn't as good as the others.

get on -sounds good yo i need to get that phone ring from you hook me up. some of these high effects need to be dropped in the mix and spaced out more instead of being so repetitive. the wood block sound and the harp gliss become annoying . on the positive side i love the way the track kkeps stopping that silence in there is just enough to be golden.

TRUE-beat sounds dam good. vocals dont sound full enough you might need to beef them up with eq. on this track she needs to sound more "man like". her voice sounds so lite it kinda mixes in with the music to much not establishing a prescense of its own. you might want to add a male vocal with hers its all about balance.the light and dark side of the force must exist when you are using vocals they both make the other sound better.

HUMANNATURE- i like this joint you might wanna throw some double claps in there for change up it works great. would have liked a harde kick and a little more variation but this was a good track.

what did you use to make these i have my own idea just want to see if i'm right. good work tho.

thanx...

@Abyss: loved the feedback. definitely considered adding more chord changes and variation of instrumentation. Still in the track planning stages though. And the vocals were rerecorded recently but after I posted so I'll try to get a better version up soon (added a lil' eq and slight compression for vox/track balance).

@soundboy: definitely thinking about reconsidering the harp glisses and and wood block. If I keep em' constant, I may just drop the levels in the mix a bit?! As for that phone ring, I got a whole program that I sampled. Got some interesting sounds, I'll try to find that file and upload it as an attachment, possibly drop a link to it on your PM. Otherwise hit me up at b_mo98@yahoo.com for any other sound related transfer business.

As far as gear....hmmm...."I will never teeellllllll..."

just kidding, actually I jut True was done with a Korg Trinity (non-Triton) and MPC2000XL,
while Get On and Human Nature were MPC+Emu Proteus 2500 combos.

Is that what you predicted?

Yo,

I think u workin with something good here kid...
I don't sing r/b (unless i'm in the car or something)
but i could mos def see my boy Crunch on one of these joints rippin shit. My fav is "true" this one is hot through and through
"get on" i didn't really feel this one i'll be honest ...i dunno i just think it would be harder for someone to carry a tune to this one.
"human nature" this is nice too... i wish we had some chicks on this forum because it would be interesting to see this one take off... I can def hear True and human nature banging on the waves so just find the right artist and your set...peace
