Just wanted to respond to people I didn't get to talk to....
groucho- thanks man. Taking your suggestions.
fenderlikingood- Hey man, thanks for checking this out. I'm taking care of that kick! Peace.
WATYF- thanks for the feedback bud. I'm changing the the drum sound a bit in version 2, including the kick. Appreciated!
mixmkr- taking your mix suggestions to version 2. Appreciated. As for the verse vocal, well, all I can is yes, it monotonish. "Left turn" no doubt...I think it's part of the reason I've been having a hard time hearing this one right. Too much acoustic...
Thanks again!
Sam- I'm sure you would come up with something cool man. We definitely gotta fit a collab in this summer. Have your people call my people...
boydrj- Thanks for the vocal comments....I'm on my way to improving them!
M. Brane- I agree about the metallic sound of the kick...sounded cool to me at first, but after the vocals went on, I don't like it. Your mix comments were right on too. Thanks!
Jeff- I should dig out my old Steve Vai tapes. Loved Passion and Warfare. Thanks for checking this out.
Chris- ahh...thanks.
mbuster- Mark, glad you dug this. See above for kick comments. Pick one.
Thanks man.
Doug H- thank you for the detailed critique. I think you'll find the remix to be much punchier when I'm done! Cya.
Tubedude- Paul, Hope to have it for ya by next weekend. Just need to clean it up a bit. I'll check my PM's to see if I still have your address. Thanks dude.
Khompy- Ladies and Gentlemen our new Jester has arrived. Man you post some funny stuff. That "Brought to you by Pepsi thing with the colored letters was hilarious.
Thanks for the laughs.
CrankyOne- I'm going on a search for new snare sounds tonight. Unless I pass out first. I'm glad you liked the song. Your stuff seems to improve exponentially. June Song is a sweet recording, song and all. Thanks again.
Meshuggah- Hey man, very happy you dug it. Others said the vocal was too soft. What I usually assume when this happens is that it's a matter of EQ, not volume. In this case, the main vocal needed a cut around 100-250Hz to make room for the one an octave below it, and of course the bass and guitars. I want more too...enjoyed doing some heavy stuff again. It's therapeutic. Thanks brotha.
Alright, now we can go.
