Anfontan (Tony) was kind enough to add some of his superb Telecaster and Dobro licks to my song "I Do". I've just finished remixing this so I'd appreciate any suggestions you might have.

This is a 10MB 320MP3 so it will take a minute or so to download and or save. ;-)

Pleasant, would like to hear more of the panned guitars, could stand to be brighter overall, but thats personal preference.

Hey Gerry, I'm glad that you liked my parts enough to add them to the I Do song version 2.0.:)

The slide is a Regal resonator guitar with a raised nut and a Stevens slide bar. Tele part is an Xaviere XV 835 with a DiMarzio Chopper-T dual blade humbucker in the bridge position.

You had the song all finished, I just added the icing to the cake was all!

Drums are a bit muffled or could use some more highs. Electrics sound nice. Good use of the panning to separate everything. It sounds really nice to me.

I agree that the whole mix could use some highs, and I don't say that too regularly.

Overall really nice and good recording too.

Thanks guys - I'm going to remix this and add some highs...not sure what eq but Sonar has many...

Sounds great, Gerry! These songs just keep gettin' better. Can't wait for the album to be released!

Typing as I listen. Nice intro. Like the tele track. First verse, rhythm guitars too close to center, and fighting for space with the vocals in the same freq. range. Chorus, love the harmony vocals. Well done. Lead vocal seems a little low in places and hard to understand, but maybe getting the guitar panned a little more might bring them up. Drum kit sounds pretty darned good, really like your tom sound. Kick seems to get buried in places. Tele solo at around 2:38 feels a bit rushed like it's slightly out ahead of the rest of the guitars. This song was made for dobro, but it needs to come up IMO. Sounds cool, but can barely hear it. Biggest room for improvement is the bass. It sounds like it was played well, but it's really indistinct in the mix. Needs more clarity and punch. Again, moving the guitars further from center may help the bass. Very nice ending. That's what I'm hearing. Pretty good stuff.

I think that they additionas are good but not together. You've a basic Strat sound for the song which is complimented by the Tele (though the intro chords/tone needs to be revisted along the song so that it has some continuity) OR the basic strat sound with the dobro (which needs some level adjustment in spots) but they three don't work for me. The Tele brings out the country flavour quite strongly, the dobro a more subtle tastewhereas I've always felt the strta & the chording had a very Buddy Holly ballad vibe.
Interesting experiment that leaves a bundle of options.

You guitarists and your drums :D The snare and kick sound fine but the crashes/hats are way too low. The guitars and vocals sound nice. Overall it sounds a little bass heavy, I think it could be a little more bright.

You write really beautiful songs, Gerry. ;)
The only thing that stands out at me is the drum sound, the kit sounds pretty dull to me (I'm sure Greg knows what I mean....:D). Nice song, great harmonies!
Great contribution from Tony too!

Thanks - we're still working on it...

Thanks GZ - I've still not finished with this track so I will keep your suggestions in mind.

Hey Ray! Buddy Holly versus Waylon Jennings ? Maybe I can get Tony to do a bunch of lead accents throughout the song and we can mix that in with the dobro and see how it works.

Hmm - lots of comments on the bass. Maybe needs some definition and less low end?

Thanks Joey - I would love to get Jan's Abbey Road drums plugin.....but that involves hardware and software upgrades :D Some day maybe....

Hey Gerry, I will try and get some parts together and send them your way soon-I need to polish up some parts anyway. That Tele style guitar just makes me want to play the twangy stuff, but it can growl very nicely too!

Thanks to everyone that listened and commented, hope a new version is in the works soon..
