Need help with choosing a mic!!!

Im on a 100 dollar budget and was choosing between a mxl v63m(with shock mount)$99 ant the at2020(no shock mount)$99 ..and i wanted to know if my fast track ultra would work with these mics with out preamps..im just trying to make a little mix tape in my living room..feel free to drop some knowledge and experience ..hope all is well with everybody out there..Peace
 
I like it as do many others and for $80. it really is hard to beat.
 
no i was asking if it would work with the pre amps it has itself?..or would i have to get a separate pre amp..?
 
You will be fine. There is phantom power right?
 
yes..on the back it has a swith that says48v phantom power..it that it??the reason i asked is because i read alot a few threads saying that the fast track ultra pre amps ar garbage
 
Then maybe you should shop around some ..... that is if your unhappy with what your getting through your preamp now.
 
yeah,..i guess ill have to see once i get the mic and record thru nuendo 3..thanks alot
