need help - why does my drum sequenced mix sound bad!?

our band records with drum samples, obviously it won't sound as good as live drums, but i've heard some good 'fake' drum sounds in mixes. please let me know what's wrong wtih these mixes:

Listening to The Adventure. Drums sound way compressed and lifeless.

Listen to a few seconds of some of the other songs and the drums have a more open and natural sound.
