Do you guys know of any good demo's that will give me a good idea of the program?

Try nTrack:

Try the search function. Just about everyone one this board has supplied an opinion on this at one time or another.

You can Get Demo versions of Most Recording Programs....

The one I use is called "Mackie Traction 2.1" which is an awesome Recording Program and EXTREMELY easy to use and you can download a Working demo version over at the "Mackie" web site...The only think crippled in the demo version is the use of Plugins.....

Cheers

And of course some are all too happy to voice their opinion time and time and time again :)

Or, they just like helping n00bs?

Thanks for the ideas guys, I'll go try some out..

Ya know, Digi 001 is not being continued anymore. That hosts the "Pro Tools" software an industry standard name. It is current to the 6.4LE ver. I bought mine on Ebay almost 4 yrs ago for $600 and still works great. This software gives you everything that all the others do + more. Plus if you know Professional Engineers and studios you can take the files there to mix effortly. The choice is yours, The world is yours. When software and hardware are so inexpensive now a days why not go with the industry standard?

Pro Tools, Shmo Tools. You can take tracks into a studio that were recorded with any recording host if you know what your doing.

Not a big pro-tits fan myself... I am a huge advocate of Cool Edit Pro (if you can still find a copy) or you can go up to Audition 1.5 for almost exactly the same thing. It's super easy to figure out and very powerfull in what it can do.

Take a look at Mixcraft. I never found any recording program I really liked until I found Mixcraft. Whenever I want to record using my PC, it's my go-to program. I found it to be extremely intuitive with a very logically-laid out user interface. It's largely designed to be the Garageband for PC.
