I realize that a band name is a difficult thing to come up with, and it's plagued me for quite some time. But, as I've realized I'm going to have to do shows and music as a solo artist after all due to clashing tastes, it leads me to a question. What is the best way to name a solo act? Should you use your real name, a made up personal name or a full-out band name? I've tried to think through it but I can't seem to decide. I play industrial-sort of stuff, if that really matters. Any input is appreciated, even if it's just your preference.

I use both my real name and three different band names. So, I don't know if I have a preference. For me it is more determined by the style of music and whether the music sounds like an entire band or just one person playing a guitar.

That may be simplistic but that's the way I look at it.
