So im getting a pair of Naiant mics- theyre cheap and ive liked my friend's X-Q's that ive borrowed. I didnt get the chance to try out the X-Q as drum overheads (sadly I dont have drums to try them on). After checking out the Naiant site, Im kinda leaning towards getting a pair of X-M's instead of a pair of X-Q's. Any opinions on the X-M's? Is it worth the extra $60 or $70 for the X-M's instead of X-Q?

I'm also going to bump this and ask a similar question; what would be a good Naiant mic for close Acoustic Guitar miccing, with a LDC farther away?

The X-Qs are great for close micing an acoustic. I don't have the X-Ms. I have one X-T, but I haven't used it for much yet -- I tried it on a backing vocal track, and it was keepable. I think it might make a nice third mic for acoustic instead of the LDC, and I bet I can do a lot with it, given the time to experiment.

Never use X-Qs as overheads unless playing very quietly. Their limit is 108dB, and drums can go ovr 110dB. I'm not sure about X-M, but Jon(the owner) seems excited about them. The X-Ts seem good too. Why not email him, or message him on here(his user name is MSHilarious), with a detailed decription of what you want, and how much you wanna spend and get him to suggest.
