$16.24 including shipping. Just bought 'em. Thanks, thajeremy! :D

That is also where I get mine . . . albeit in *somewhat* larger quantities :o

I add four strips of speaker gasketing foam tape inside the clip which grips the mics quite well, you might want to seek out something similar.

hey msh. just curious-- are you going to brand these in any way?
still mean to pick some up, but i have to get over a massive g.a.s. hangover first.

So mshilarious.....as I'm looking over these posts and slowly deciding to pick up some of your mics, I've come to this:

I'm looking for a stereo (matched) pair that will be used for acoustic guitar and drum overheads for the most part. Which mics will perform best for those 2 functions?

and msh...the bastard comment was just in good fun i hope you know...

ima get my clips from you and maybe a cardiod or two

You need to stop with the "slow" and just do it! These mics are crazy good for the price. I got a matched pair of the MSH-1O omnis and tried 'em on my Lowden acoustic guitar:

This is just the raw recording. No EQ adjustments, no compression, no NR. I'm pretty pleased.

And then over the weekend, I recorded my son's punk band. I hadn't tried micing drums for over 16 years and was feeling a little rusty. But I got out the MSH's and put 'em up as overheads, along with an Oktava MC012 on snare and an Audix D3 on kick. Spent about 5 minutes on mic placement, let 'er rip, and here's what I got:

I dunno, I thought it was pretty impressive. And I think the overall sound could have been much better if I had taken the time to optimize placement, etc. Oh yeah, and there are zilch phase issues (based on Auditions phase analysis tool.

nice soundclip! i'm going to pick up some msh's as soon as i recover financially from my weekend gearsluttery. i'm curious to hear your 2nd example, but the link is the same as the first one-- could you repost it? also what kind of signal chain did you use (preamps, interface)? thanks!

Sorry! I corrected the link in my post. It will now take you to the drum sample.

Signal chain is nothing fancy. M-Audio DMP3 mic pres into a M-Audio Delta 44.

hey,
i'm stealing and passing on travisinflorida's question: what is the deal on the msh-1k? is this a kick mic? what'd different about it and is it available separately?
i guess that was a series of questions-- sorry :o

Just ordered a pair of the omni's.
Hope they get here before next Friday.
Gonna record a Gospel group and Choir with the new mobile rig.
