First off , good song, I liked it alot... so you have the important part down.......I normally don't say much in these critiques because I think alot of people just post stuff so they can show their stuff off.........And chances are if that's what they are doing then I can't help them with anything cause I'm no pro.......but I could give you a couple of easy tips.....
first, I agree with pretty much all that was said above....drums are way way too loud.....by far the most evident problem
Also, as mentioned, the guitar definately needs something......for one it has way too much treble in it and is very 2 dimensional sounding.......The guitar needs more low end.... it doesn't gell at all with the rythem section cause there is so much treble in it......for starters mess with the knobs on the guitar itself when your recording....It's elementary but sometimes people neglect the fact that you can accomplish alot with just messing with those knobs ....they are there for a reason....Always mess with them before doing anything else like eq........
I would also try playing the rythem track twice, recorded to two separate tracks each with different tonal and or chord variations and panning them at least semi hard in two different directions.....This will thicken it up a bit, make the sound more 3-D and also create space for the lead guitar, which is being interfered with by the rythmn guitar in terms of space (panning) and also frequency.....
I thought that while the vocals were too low, they were still pretty good....However, I bet if you got the guitar to sound a little better it would inspire you to get an even better vocal take.....
remember, I liked the song alot man....Keep it up!
