How you guys doing? I took a long, extended break and I just threw up some mic's yesterday and i feel like I got some good results.

I used a 57 on the snare, Audix Fusion12 for the kick, an Audix tom(rack) mic from that same kit and 2 GLS-57's as overheads.

I ran it through my firepod to Logic express.

let me know what you think, I feel real good about it.

Sounds okay. Put some instruments all over it and see what happens.

I agree w/Greg. The best test is how it works in a mix. I think you might find that the overheads (i.e. cymbals) will be a bit weak. I can hear 'em in the sample, but because they're dynamics (as opposed to Condensers) there's not nearly as much there--and it might get lost among other higher frequency signals like guitars & keys.

Sounds good though, love to hear it in a mix.

yeah I know everything might change in a mix, my old band just reformed and we're re-writing some songs so I'll let you guys hear something when we get it.

I'm going to use my guitarists matched pair Behringer c2 condensers for overheads, atleast try it out.

thanks.

Sounds like some phase issues going on pretty badly. Is the kit close to the wall? Sounds like some comb filtering as well.

I wouldnt be able to hear phase issues, but yeah, it is close to the wall.
untreated room, too.
