Mxl 990 with MP Tube Preamp

I have an MXL 990 condenser mic and I cannot figure out how to get it working with my MP Tube Preamp. I have the phantom power in, but it is not picking any thing up. Please help, I am a complete noobie when it comes to this stuff.

Sounds like somethings broken...Id take them back and throw in a few hundred.

Did you buy it new? Warranty? Take it to the shop you bought it and try other mics in it to see if it's the mic or the preamp. Sounds like something is broken....

i bought both pieces new, so, I think the mic is broken, becaus the guitar worked fine when we plugged it into the preamp

Did you try another condenser mic???...the smart money might be the preamp has issues...there is more to go wrong and ART's quality control is inferior enough that I would advise against any ART purchase...but what did you expect for $50

Are you using an XLR cable at both ends? Or an XLR to balanced 1/4" cable. Phantom won't get passed on that kind of cable.
