hey this might be kind of a dumb question, but is there any place (other than ebay) that you guys know of that sells signs and posters and stuff that you see in music stores? i think some of that stuff would be cool to have around the house or in the studio area. like signs from different gear brands and promo items.

i couldn't think of what area to post this in so i put it here in "studio design" since it's sorta for decorating the studio.

:p :o

yeah a couple. haven't really been in a long time though. i just have to find the time one of these days, i get way too busy with work and trying to manage my only day off which is Sunday... :(

make a vacation day out of it and go to Quartzite, AZ for the rock and gem show....its more than just earthy flavors...its the biggest flea market in the world and well worth the trip! i think its in a week or two not sure...but you could find out easily enough with a quick search.

i'm not sure were in cal your from on the map but if your close........

thats too bad... :( bummer...such a killer event to visit.

What about the big movie posters you see at the theater? These are normally scarfed up by employees who would gladly sell them for $10 or less. Of course these aren't necessarily related to music but think a life-sized scar face poster, etc. Some look really cool. Ask the guy taking tickets or the one who walks around with the flashlight.

Why not just go to the music stores and ask to be notified when they are changing posters? Most places don't mind holding them for a day or two for you, just make sure you buy something when you ask!

Write to the companies you like, on the address be sure to put "Attn. Advertising Dept." You will be pleasantly surprised by some of the cool stuff some of them will send you. I've recieved bumper stickers, tee shirts, posters, logo picks and even a jacket (from Washburn) as well as some really nice letters thanking me for recomending their products. It's worth the time and postage to send out a few letters asking for promo items. Briefly explain that you have a small studio and include a compliment about their product. Don't expect something from everyone you write to, but the ones which do reply will send you something you can be happy to display.
Another good way to get items of this nature is to go to a "guitar show" where there are representatives from various companies, they often have a table or booth and give out lots of promo items. Ask the reps for posters, if they don't have any with them most will take your address and send you some.
