Stiring the pot

If you want to run something hotter than 456 look around for the bias mod on this BBS. You will be able to set the bias for +9 tapes.

If the machine meters are used to calibrate the eq, a looser spec range is guaranteed. Tascam meters are notoriously frequency sensitive and can't be trusted on either side of 1Khz. The only unit that I know for certain they made without frequency weighting was the MB-20.
