Mr8 normalizing software

Hey guys,

I have a small problem with the MR8.... My problem is that before i downloaded the V1.20 update i was able to use "Audiograbber" to normalize my wav files. But ever since i got the update it tells me that my files are not compatable with the program! I mean my other songs are compatable, I checked the file info and now my songs are not .wav they are now PCM. Does anyone know of any software that is compatable with PCM wav files?

Or could it be the fact that i'm not using the CF that came with it?
I am currently using a sandisk 512mb CF. Any help is great.

Hmmmm....

I have a Sandisk 512 also and have used Audiograbbers normalize feature with no issues at all... :confused:

How are you exporting the tracks to your PC?
 
I am using the usb.....

I copy the file to Audiograbber directory as usual. However when i try to normalize my file...it says it's not compatable......Could it have been because when i first got the new card /MR8 update i didnt format the card...i just put the update in and tried to send it to computer. Wait let me re-format then try again......
 
Are you using the Wave Manager or just grabbing the files off your card in My Computer?
 
Yes actually i am...I don't use wave manager unless i need to edit something later. Is this the problem? Does the Wave manger convert the files to wav form once you copy them there? With audiograbber it is said that you can just drop the files into the dir. or open them up and normalize... That's what i was doing before but since the update not anymore. Do i have to copy them to wave manager first then to audiograbber? I don't want each track to be normalized just the stereo file on 7/8.
 
Sorry to butt in, but I have a question;
It copies the audio digitally-not through the soundcard-which enables you to make perfect copies of the originals.

Have you noticed a difference using this, as opposed to going "through the soundcard"?

Possibly a big issue for me, being as I'm still using on-board sound chip..

The Wave Manager is a utility that helps you easily move the tracks individually from the MR-8 to where you want them.

Why would you want to only normalize track 7/8? Are you bouncing everything to 7/8 when you are recording?

I don't think it has any advantages over using the Wave Manager and copying the tracks via USB...

Yeah... When i finish my mix i bounce to 7/8 create the stereo file and then normalize with audiograbber.
 
I had run into the PCM issue before as well... Can't remember the exact situation, but I couldn't get Kristal to load some specific wav files because they were 'PCM' and not 'PCM Header'
I just loaded the file into Audacity, exported back out and Kristal welcomed it with open arms...

I think your best bet is to use Wave Manager and transport your files via usb to software before they are bounced down. What software other than Audiograbber do you have?

I don't really use computer programs to be honest.... but i do have N-track which i only have the demo version so i'm limited to only two effects on track one..... I looked into Sonar but i'm not from the pc program world so i can't get anything to work on it. I don't want to get into buying computer software b/c i like to use the hands on method... Is there any fully functional freeware that you could reccommend?

You're going to be limited to only 16 tracks, but you can use effects plugins...

It might be the perfect learning tool for you to start into computer mixing...

(And it's free) :)

There are loads of freeware, shareware and some demos of almost all of the software out there.

Audacity is another one that a lot of people have talked about. I dowloaded it, but never used it.

I am looking at n'track myself. I am still on the fence about it, because people are reporting that it's buggy. I am using Vegas right now, but it's far from inexpensive ( you can download a fully functional demo of it for 30 days).
