Shit is funny how everybody's looking for the shit to be lacking somehow..... It's still just a gang of 20 year old techonlogy.... Shit is supposed to be smaller and cheaper by now no doubt. Remember the big ass bag cell phones that didn't get no kinda signal? Wasn't that shit like 2 g's back when? VCR's cost a nice grip back in the 80's.... AKAI's MPC technology is holding up like a champ with very few big improvements. For 2 g's your cell phone can do about 20 something times more shit but compare the MPC60 operation to the 1000. Hmmmmmmm.........

No room for that typa shit now though... Shit's gonna be $699 by next fall....

But on the real.... If the shit don't have resample, sample/resample with EFX, and normalize (and computer type processing) then it's really no better than a 2000XL. Least not to replace..... First time purchase no doubt.....

That's my take but I haven't fuck'd with the 2000xl in some months. The ASR-X and the RM1X combo just is just killing shit on the hardware sampler and sequencer tip right now.....

Wha makes me piss meself is the 4000 still got a world of bugs that aint been sorted yet and they release the 1000. A toy.
 
it's cool, I got to play with it at AES, but the color is a little disturbing, almost makes it look like a "TOYS-R-US" toy. There are really no faults in it, it's kind of lite, but you'd have to import samples via your computer (I knew they werent gonna make that easy) other than that -- it's cool, a space saver.

they were trying to get CHAD, from NEPTUNES to sponsor it, but Roland's MV-8000 Production Studio kind of put them to shame.

I give it a year and a half, before this site will be talking about that piece
