MOTU, Won'tyou?

Why, no! :p

The nice folks at MOTU's tech support say that the 324 will not work with any PC chipset from two years ago and to date. VIA is particulary a problem. But when I get a chance and work up a little inspiration, I'll go re-install and give it a go. I've actually just downloaded the CPU-Z to "x-ray" my PC's guts- thank you very much for the utility and the patch. I will have a go at it.

Call me presumptuous, but I get the feeling there's a... 'message' in there, somewhere...

did you apply the PCI latency patch for VIA chipsets?

I did the CPU-Z, which is a great tool for discerning what's in the case. However, none of the troubles indicated on your link are my trouble. In my PC, devices and drivers are not able to connect. I think what MOTU says is correct, that the new VIA chipset processes PCI info in a way that doesn't mesh with the 324 card. I'ts not jiving.

Thanks for your trouble- now it's either re-jig the PC or go find something else, whichever is easier. I'm quite happy releasing this to God at this point. My toes are bloody from kicking against the pricks...

That's what I've been saying - I've been though this all...

HOWEVER, if so inclined, you can upgrade the PCI-324 to a PCI-424 for $295, and that should work.

I believe you. I just have felt it reasonable to try everything. Until I can't stand it anymore... which is now the case.

This system will not support this device. I'm satisfied. Now there are decisions. Change the system, or change the device. I like the device, and if it's esaier to change the PC's guts, I'll do it. The PC will still support my software with the P4 or PIII.

Sorry, you are having trouble with your hardware I feel your pain.
I am running 2408 and 24i on the 324 card successfully on the intel 865 pe chipset.I realize that this chipset is old by tech standards.
Motu support told me that the 324 might not work. There is a bulletin on there sight about voltage differences in the newer motherboards pci slots.Be sure to check that your new motherboard will tolerate the voltage the 324 uses.My ECS 856PE-A motherboard does tolerate the 324.

I went through similar frustration years ago trying to get my Motu stuff up and running on an Iwill with Via kt-133a chipset.I finally got it to work after many, many in and outs with the card the 4 in1 drivers from via etc...I was lucky to finally get it working and stable.I loved that setup for many years.
