Most efficient way to separate tracks?

Can someone tell me a good, easy way to separate tracks from a large audio file? I make mainly live recordings, and I've been using a cut/paste "technique" in Adobe Audition to separate the tracks without silence or a pop. However this takes a while.

Is there anything available that can make track marks without cutting/pasting and such, and output files that have zero gaps?

waverepair will do it easily but that's at CD quality wave file level.

A program called "CD Wave Editor" is also pretty good. And free. Google it
