Ok I am looking at john's design of the two room studio off of the sae.edu website.
I am curious on the wall construction because I have a set budget to work with on building this garage.
Going to be tight.
Do I have to do a room within a room to keep the bass frequencies down from passing cars or drums to the outside.Seems like john's plans show this.
I also remember sojke telling us about using diff levels of soundboard and drywall on an outside wall of a garage.

I really need to know if it is feasible to do this with just the main outside frame being the main wall to the outside and able to keep sound from traveling to far or in as well.
Please Give me good detail on this matter.

A room within a room is the preferred option - if you have the money available to do it, as it is unquestionably more expensive.

There are also good means of ensuring adequate insulation without big spending. The most important asect you can solve immediately when building new is to reduce vibration and thereby the transfer of low frequency in and out of a building.
How to do this depends on what kind of construction method, and what kind of exterior cladding you are planning to use.

So - if you can give some more detail, we will be able to come up with some good solutions

two totally seperate wall structures are the ideal as is explained in John's tutorials but consider as an alternative using a single top plate and bottom plate approx., 6" wide, then put two sets of studs in..........one inner and one outer with insulation running through the centre.
