More feedback after installing humbucker covers

So I installed some covers for my humbuckers on my Les Paul Classic, and now I've got to face away from the amp when I play to keep the noise down. Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this problem? The covers are not the gibson brand, so I'm not sure if they might be made of inferior materials.

you cant just put covers on them, you have to repot them to keep the feedback down

Did this problem exist before the covers?

I see that the Les Paul Classic does not come with covers.

What Jacko means by "potting" is that the pickups may need to be dipped in wax, which helps with cancelling hum.

You might want to consider some pickups from Lindy Fralin, who is just up the road from you.

The problem did not exist before I put the covers on. Thanks for the info about potting, I learned something new today. I'll ask my local music shop if they have the procedures to do it, or I may just go ahead and take the old pickups out and throw some burstbuckers in there. thanks again for the advice guys.
