Do you have a new cd released. I'm always up for a good listen.

As for mixsit's post, I'm not sure what you're getting at, dude.
I assume that the "newbie' and other tags are refering to
the amount of posts one makes here. Other than that, a
newbie I'm definatly not. I respect the long hard road we
are all on - towards excellance in mixing and music in general.
I hope I'd never dis' someone with the ol' didja wiggle the cord
routine. lol. ; )

Not at all! Not at all!:D
I just got a kick out of the fact that the word 'newbie' ends up anywhere near a person with your experience.
Please except my apologies for wrighting something that could be taken in such an unintended light.
I'm anything but confrontational by nature.

Stuff is coming out of my studio all the time, mostly available on Amazon and the like - no major labels as of this time...

If you really are interested in hearing stuff by random people whom you've never heard of, you're welcome to PM me for more info.

Anyway, welcome aboard. We can always use a few more knowledgeable folks to balance out the poseurs like myself.

The B&W monitors in this review did very well compared to the others it was up against.

http://www.sospubs.co.uk/sos/jun02/articles/monitors.asp

Does that mean the more expensive dm602's would be much better?

Would this be an exception to the hi fi vs. monitor rule or would it still be best to get real monitoring speakers.

Would a set of Yorkville Ysmi's be better than the B&W dm602's (yorkvilles half the price).

The short answer is yes. (And the long answer is yes, too ;) IMHO)

I'm using 601's myself and I borrowed a couple of Behringer Truths from my friend just to compare. The Truths sounded more precise and cleaner than the 601s. It's not that I think that the 601s sounds bad, it was just much easier to identify problems on the Truths and when I've fixed them, it sounded better on the 601s too.

Now, I can't compare it to the Yorkville's because these are impossible to find here in Norway (damn this small country :().

Regarding the Behringer Truths, I get a little worried when a monitor manufacturer quotes frequency response figures without any bounds (eg +-3db) and doesnt publish the frequency response plot. When I hear the Truths, I get the feeling the frequency response is U shaped, emphasing highs and lows. We'll never know though...

Never judge a poster by his 'newbie'.Some folks may actually know something about this stuff.I personally was born before there was an Elvis and have been at this for a bit. That doesn't make me special or even smart, but I've noticed a tendency on this site for the posters with a bunch of posted credits, to kind of beat down those who perhaps don't have the time to post more often,or maybe really are 'newbies' in search of enlightenment. I'll bet nobody on here was born with the knowledge they now have, and I've always believed you give back what you've been given. And hell yeah, I always jiggle the cord.

The reason why i have a fair number of posts is because i don't know very much and i'm trying to learn. People like Alfalfa and cavedog (many more just two examples on this page) know so much more than me it's not even funny. But they don't hold it over my head or make fun of me, and i don't make fun of them because they have less posts than me. Post count doesn't mean shit.

But yea never judge the quality of a response or advice by the number of posts someone has.
