Can someone listen to this tune and help me out why it sounds so flat, especially at
the end when the choir of 75 9 and 10 year old kids come in. The two singers, one is 9 and the other is 12. They do a pretty good job, but there are some distortion in the voice caused by the mic or the mixer clipping and I'm stuck with it.

the tune is cuamd.mp3

thanks

I get alot of distortion on this file thats not in the wav files I mixed and attempted to master. IT must be the mp3 decoder.
any thoughts?

Those kids are pretty good. About your mix... The vocals need to come down a little.

What kind of MIDI source are you using? Did you play the MIDI notes or program them in? The notes do not seem to have any velocity dynamics to them. With no velocity dynamics, MIDI music will sound stale, flat, and mechanical.

I'm not at liberty to say much about the mix, but it sounded great to me, I went to the trouble to d/l it so I'm gonna say something, these kids sound great! made my day hearing all these kids with all this talent :)

thanks guys. these kids are great to work with. About the midi. I programmed the midi, and played back through my yamaha mu100r, recorded in N-tracks. I thought the kids were a little too loud. I'll try again the mix. thanks again.
