Cool. Great, guys!!! There are only a few that have to change their links now.

KEVIN...thanx you very muc. I'm using a FOCUSRUTE VOICEMASTER PRO on my vocals. I had just bought it when I did this tune. Thanx for the compliment.

I'll get mine changed tonite; just saw this. Although I doubt it will affect the opinion of the judges either way at least for me...

Reggie, as far as I can see, you have a lightningMP3 link already. I hope that's the right link I put up a while back.

Thanx Dogman...Almost all the links are changed now, thanx guys.

That might be OK, Rabbit, but it might be better if you didn't have "willapabay" in if possible. Just to have nothing identifying anyone in the files themselves.

I don't know if it is just my PC or what, but the mixes sound much better downloading them and then listening to them rather than using the player that comes up through IE (Quicktime).

I never noticed but it's possible.

OK, so GBAV is the only one we're waiting on to get a generic mp3 file. Aside from Phil DEE, but he already told me he moved it to LIGHTNINGMP3, just has to send me the link.

Thanx again everyone!

Hm, I too first listen to the mp3's in quicktime but haven't noticed a differrence though. Anyhow afterwards I always listen to them in winamp so I can check those cute lil' dancing bars.

I also hear a big difference depending on which player is used. When I download the mixes and open them in Adobe Audition they sound 10 times better than they do in Musicmatch or Winamp.

Hmm, really? I should try that. Since I always evaluate my mixes in Winamp, it must mean they're FANTASTIC in some other player.

hooray.

With this being the case, I hope each judge listens to all the songs through the same player. The player may be different for each judge, but a single judge should use the same player to listen to all the songs.

Hi guys!! I just want to thank you all, for going to the trouble of reposting your links....I for one, have not listened to any of your mixes...so I will have no idea, whom I am hearing. I prefer it this way. The best of luck to you all....remember that, the biggest reward we all get from this contest, is knowledge from experience. A lot of fun too!!

Love ya all!!!!

I was half-joking of course. It probably will not make any difference as far as mixing goes, at least not at my level. Either way I'm sure they will use same speakers and players.

I do think however, that judging won't be easy with the sometimes big differences in RMS with some mixes compared to others. I think it could be a good idea (for possible future events like this one) to agree upon a ?minimum/maximum/(fixed+allowed deviation)? RMS for the submissions. Just to make it easier to judge for starters.

Hi guys...I will be posting how your mixes are being listened to, and what basic guidelines they are being judged by. I know it isn't an easy task with different listening gear and such....but a good mix, is basically going to stay a good mix, even on a bit lesser quality listening gear. We will be as fair as possible and take all of these things into consideration. I will be using the same player and monitors for each mix. I will speak with the other judges to assure they will too.

True :) :) :)

Hi mixmasters!!!! How are you today? I have been listening to your mixes.

I had to post how great they all are!!! I am not done listening of course.
I will be listening all week long, maybe longer. This will not be an easy judging.

I have listened on the same player, with same settings. I will not change them at all during this period of judging, so that each one is heard alike.

I am very impressed by the skills, I have been hearing. Some are a bit more refined than others, some more creative. Some did better on guitars, some on percussion, some on effects...etc. But all of the mixes are sounding good!

I wanna tell you guys ahead of time, that I appreciate your patience with us for the 'time' thing....and for re-linking your mix to Lightingmp3. There are two of you however, whose link took us straight to your host, with your identity. You are not anonymous to us!! :D

Still all in all, I believe myself to be unbiased, and I believe the other judges to be of integrity.

I just wanted ya to know that!! ;) Mix on!!

True :)

Cool, so ... IT HAS BEGUN *lightning strikes* *evil laugh*

Seriously though, thank you and the other judges, YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE, for taking the time to judge this thing. I bet it'll be whole lotta work with all those mixes.

And again big thanks to RAMI for startings this.

I can't even start to tell how much I've learnd till now and I secretly hope that when the results are in some of the guys will want to share their 'settings' (for lack of a better word) so we can see HOW ppl achieved what they achieved. That would be fantastic, icing on the cake if you will...really looking forward to that.
