Sounds good.

The bass is hiding the slap of the kick drum, I would add more at 5-6K.

Eck

Ya tried it. there's a reason I backed it off some;) nothing to do with the player I never really could get the kick where I wanted it so this was my best compromise.

That snare is way more left than I remember it.. I like it just a hair left but it is way farther. I thought I had it set at like 5%. Could fix and repost but todays a bad day. If someone wants a copy with it more centered I'd be happy to do it later.

Now did you listen a extremely hi volumes????? I want for a pretty dark mix but at hi volumes is shapes out well on my system.

Thanks for the comments. It what it is now. It was a fun little project.

Well I reposted my final file. I don't know how long it takes to show. I'm a little pissed though. The reason I went in to mess with it is because the mixed down file is way quieter than when I play it in sonar. I'm not getting that at all. And it seems to sound a bit different too

I do not get this. I guess it's another call to cakewalk tomorrow. This can't stand.

It's under mix contest.

Edit: My specialy tuned for audio computer had the wav slider in control panel half way down. Apperantly Sonar is able to bypass that :o

I'm all better now.

I didnt actually. I do listen to things at a nice level to check out mixes, and also listen through headphones pretty loud too, but not extreme hi volume. :)

Well you're smarter than me;) My damage was done ages ago. A product of countless band practices standing in front of out front speakers :o Them horns are killers. If I knew then........

here's mine, from the 2nd page:

are we going to get band feedback on all of ours before a final mix, or is this it?

I believe I was forgotten in the list.... I posted a week ago...

Here is the link in case:

ok----heres my picks

1- NL5---all around great mix-i think this is the most usable mix "as-is", and i would acually consider this a tie with raws mix.

2-RAWDEPTH---great mix of instruments, but the fx on vox during corus parts is a bit much, and IMHO would be better off without it. everything eles is spot on as far as i can tell!

3-VANBUS2---once again a very even mix but the metal work in drum tracks is muddy but works in the mix well enough.

i'm not very technical so i leave it at this and let my ears do the talking:)

i really wish i coulda done a final mix on it, but i just didn't have the time this weekend to get it done. it sucks being busy like this, hopefully i'll get some more free time soon...

i felt like i had some pretty good ideas i wanted to implement, especially on the vocals. :o :(

there's always next time though.

Alrighty fellers, I'm gunna take these mixes up to the band tomorrow (Friday Dec 7)

And have them have a listen.....

I think everyone did a good job, I started giving them all a critical listen last night.... I suppose I could offer my own critique on all of them if you all would be interested???

Is anyone else judging along with me and the band????

Ohh and ZED...if ya wanna get one in I'd say go ahead...i know the deadline was monday, but as long as you can get it soon, and everyone else is cool with it I don't have a problem with it...

To the others, if you think that is wrong, lemme know... A deadline is a deadline, so if you think it's unfair then just say so..

I was thinking it would be cool to put it up as a poll question if that's possible.
You could have like 100 people or more judging.
Just a thought.

Problem with a poll is that not everyone on this forum is able to do critical listenning (comparing at equal volume each track, in a controled acoustic room...., and that's without talking about beeing able to be completely objective towards describing sound...)

Ya I see that but it may also give you a better idea of how the masses feel.
more of a prospective from a more diverse listening audiance. Like the people that listen to the radio. They know what they like but may not be able to say why. They can just vote.

You would have to trust that they listened to all the mixes which is pretty time consuming on a almost 6 minute song (I think it was).

Any way just a thought. I think it would be cool to do both and see how they stack against each other. More of a ponderance on my part.
