I havn't mixed other people stuff much, just my own but I gave it a try.

I enjoyed mixing this. Was a pleasure.
Love mixing other peoples music cause its a different challenge since people track differently and different musical styles mean looking at mixing in a different way.

Think I might put some finishing touches to my mix.

The bottom end and mid is a little muddy. Checking for dc offset may help. Use some eq to bring out the bass drum. The snare sounds thin and it may be because it was a stereo file and you may have imported it as mono. You could use a little more air on the top end too, maybe mixing in more of the OH's.IMHO
 
i was totally going to get into this since, you know...$150 is $150

but then i spent like an hour mixing that one little piece of song, and realized that i really didn't want to get $150 for god-knows how many hours of sitting at my computer, so i said screw it

Thanks for the help--I'll try to re-mix it tonight when I get off work :) I know for a fact that my DC offset was disabled. And I did try to EQ in the bass drum, but obviously not enough after listening to other people's mixes.
 
I'm personally curious as to what the Mic/pre set up was like as well.

57 snare
some cad kick mic
57 and 58 on toms
 
i really like the sound of those mxl 993's.. im surprised..
