I believe you are right but 20:1 is a bit more common. I can't think of any hardware pieces that do that but I think that plug ins do.

umm yes i play guitar and piano and a little bass.
and i got impatient because my computer's slow and lame.

and if you don't mind. how do you make the guitars sound like s clauses? because i've been reeeeally wanting to know how to do that.

i just listend to other. ecktronic and geets sound "roomy" or whatever. and the "squashed" version of mornings i like that one better. then clauses'.
i admit clauses was a little to "bright" but i didn't hear anyone elses that was like that.

I listened to the Myspace page.
Terrible mix! Very terrible mix, but not roomy. Roomy is when you hear the room. The Myspace mix isjust terribly mixed, it has no power. everything is far away but not roomy!

My mix is not roomy in the slightest! It isnt even a bad mix. Everything is at the right levels and everything has their own sonic space and the mix is clear, but not harsh or thin. I spent alot fo time on the lower mids to get that full sound.

I did use alot of the OHs in my mix though as that was the only way to get a decent snare sound.

I was going to re sample the kick. But I'm not at home I'm on vacation so I don't have my sample library and the only kick I have sounds like crap. Also I felt as though replacing the kick or anything else would have taken way to much time and energy for a chance at mixing an album for only $150.

Just out of curiousity, did you use the snare track as a mono or stereo track? When I originally imported all the tracks, I only looked at the first couple and they were mono so I imported them all as mono. If wasn't until I got to the snare track that I discovered it as a stereo track so I re-imported it and it made a big difference.

All my tracks were stereo tracks. :)
The snare was originaly a stereo track ans the rest were mono.

sweet i am down...nothing better then mixing up some tracks.IMO recording is grueling with perfectionists but if the shit is down(so so) who cares.

so is this a contest if so I am down.

Oh. Alright for some reason I had it in my head that it was done tonight but its all good.
 
Put it in anyhow, like any job you should keep applying til someone gets it and besides that it's a good learning practice.
