MIDI setup Please HELP!

New to midi. I have a keyboard, Alesis Nanosyth exterior interface (2 ins 2 outs). use an old version of cakewalk or cubasis. What is the proper way to hook his up. It seems I cant get any ouput 9or is it input) recorded on my computer. Thanks for any help.. Jeff

You need to go in your software package (which ever one you use) and check the setting, your (interface) should have a disk
to install in your computer to let it read your computer.

Example: after inserting the disk
you make assignments: Keyboard to output/input 1, Nanosynth output/input 2
and you should have a chart that outlines this. Then you should recieve output on your computer (you will see the output/input levels move) and also you need a sound source via (Stereo, Mixer, speakers) to actually hear it, just said that cause you didnt mention any stereo or mixer.
