I am using Digital Performer with an Akai MPC2000XL. Now, I can record all my other midi insturment with no problem. Oh yes, and by the way, they are connected through a Midi Timepiece AV. Anyway, It seems I cannot record the midi output of the Akai into Digital Performer. They are synced and that works, I can record the audio. I have the midi output properly connected and I am able to verify ouput on the corresponding midi channle. So, why won't the midi signal record in Digital Performer. I am wondering if the reason has something to do with clock incompatability since the Akai is a sequencer and Digital Performer in "midi mode" is essentially a sequencer as well, however, I have tried to pursue this angle twoards acheiving my goal my slaving and mastering each on to the other yet still I cannot seem to get the midi signal into or at least recorded into Digital Performer. I want to do this because it would avoid my having to seperately save and load the drum programs every time I wish to play a track if I don't want to record the audio just yet becuase I have not settled on the sound. Though I know the audio can be re-recorded without any problem, I still would like to solve this problem if it is possible. If anyone knows why this is or has had this problem, please let me know.
Thank you.
