alrighty - now i just got the 4-track frlom my friend.

it's a Tascam Portasudio 414MKII

specs page:

and for a really close up picture: http://www.tascam.com/images/products/portastudios/414mkii/porta_414mkII_pb.jpg

Can you guys tell me specifically where to put the 4 mics (as i mic the drums), and where the outputs should go into my Santa Cruz card from the 4-track to get 4 seperate tracks to appear on N-Track?

That would be more then awesome, ha.

Thanks again for everyone's help

There don't seem to be too many choices, it's either line outs, monitor outs, or auxillary outs. It's hard to say which combination will work without knowing the specifics of the 4 track.

For micing the drums put one in the kick, one on the snare and use a pair as overheads.

ok - but what do i connect to where, to get the 4 individual mic tracks out of that?

the cruz has 2 line in's (both fit 1/8" plugs)......

and on the tascam portastudio - there is a "line out L and R" (both fit 1/8" plugs), and a "mon out L and R"(both fit 1/8" plugs)

What do i put where, to make it so that all 4 mics have seperate tracks on N-Track?
