Does anybody have any suggestions on a mic for recording vocals, within the $100-300.00 range. I'll be recording into a boss br-8 (8 track) and then taking it to a studio to be mastered. I have a couple more questions what is a condenser? and what is the difference in mics? for example a $200 mic vs a $500 mic? I know this might sound dumb but please humor me thanks!!!!

Dog I was using a Rode NT1 ($199) on my first CD's and it was dope but I got a few comments on something lacking about the vocals. I copped and Audio Technica 4033 ($299) and the shit like night and day. I went from doing verses 25 times to about 5. Shit picks up so much more detail it's sick. I say check out a AT4033.

A lot of folks been talking about Studio Projects C1 mic. Enough to where I'd be down to spend some loot just to check it out. Plus studio projects got a tube joint coming out to.

Sennheiser... the evolution series... check em out..

Shiiiiiiiiiiiiit...........

I got a $49 karaoke machine mic with a stand, pop screen, and a foam dome(dome-shaped cover things) and my vocals sound crystal clear!!!!!!!!!:D :D :D :D

Well, well............if it isn't DJFuck-Face........

Now DJFingered, are you ready to let us all hear YOUR "me-you-sick"(music)?

I didn't think so.....:D :D :D :D

ROTFL.... the fued continues.

I use an AT-4033 through a mackie 1604 vlz pro.

no compression going in, and i use the insert on the 1604 so i'm only going through the pre-amp and none of the rest of the mixer.

what i have found with the 4033 is that it does a good job of showing you what you really sound like. i'm sure that the U87s or whatever do a much better job of it, but for the money i spent (6-7 years ago) i couldn't find a better mic.

of course, once you get the mic (and the pop filter please) you've got to position it properly for the rapper you are recording.
